Believing Jesus Is Seeing!

Jesus said, “I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things.”

From the sound of it, is this not much like an intensifying call for everyone to wake up? And…if people do wake up and smell what went wrong with humanity, well, that will do. The least one could do now is to see if one smells the way of salvation. Whether by any means you catch the underlying message or not, someone mighty here is obviously telling us something of utmost importance that we ought to know and believe, or risk losing everything which means eternally wipe out from the face of the earth and heaven! Does it not look like now we, the people here on earth, are having a serious intuition problem that badly needed a little vexation to put us back on our feet? But first, we certainly need to get down-to-earth if we want to know something earthly. Otherwise, there’s not a chance to know anything heavenly, let alone believe. Is there?

So if you don’t know what’s going on here, it only means one thing and that is: There’s a world that still many like you don’t know. There’s a world that many like you will never see. There’s a world many like you certainly are not living. And it’s a pity that we have eyes but not the insight. Nevertheless, it’s so important that you see, no matter what’s the cost. You see, you seriously can’t afford not to see. If you don’t see it the way you should, common sense will tell you that you don’t believe it the way you should either.

All of us have eyes, and for some, even luckier to have “four”. We always thought we knew too well as everyone will too readily agree that “seeing-is-believing”. What’s worrying is that people would be incline to believe that all roads lead to God all the same. If anyone ever believed that, that means that person is forgetting something. That is: the Devil exists and is part and parcel of our lives and constantly wrecking our heads to think as such. That’s why people are easily going astray from God. No thanks to the many so-called roads that lead to God!

Because we humans live in the flesh, that’s why we see things in the flesh – earthly things that is. Yet there are many times we have big problem seeing. And I mean – really seeing what not many would be able to see! Why? One thing for sure is this. The problem is not because we “can’t” see, but it’s because we DO NOT want to see which is exactly what the Devil wanted.

Not surprisingly, that’s also what caused many people to become unearthly because their minds were in total darkness and obviously blinded to see the true Light that leads to salvation. Because we live in the flesh, we cannot overcome the flesh on our own as nobody can fight the devil inside. We are badly in need of the Light to bring us out of the darkness. But sad to say, we are in the Devil’s entrapment all the time because we, unmistakably, are living in all the acts of sinful nature! That’s why we don’t see what we ought to see, let alone believe.

Do you know what are the acts of sinful nature? If you don’t, that’s because the Devil is not letting see you are already committing them now and then. If it had never occurred to you that you committed any acts of sinful nature, that’s self-righteousness which is just another way of fooling yourself. But all these will change if you start believing Jesus. That’s because: Believing Jesus is knowing! Believing Jesus is seeing! Believing Jesus is living!

But believing Jesus also means something else that will piss you off as well. And that is when you know the searing truth that no one is righteous, no – not one! That means, no matter what good one does! We are all cursed because of our acts of sinful nature. What’s the point of one minute hot at doing good just to feel good, or for publicity sake and the next minute, you’re back to your old sinful nature and even decrying the need to believe in Jesus? No one can guarantee their words and deeds are good and righteous all the time. Can you? That is exactly what led Jesus to say the truth of humans that no one is righteous, no – not one! That’s also why we badly needed Jesus whether we believe it or not, and much less, like it or not!

But yet, we always preferably like to kid ourselves that it’s only human nature and it’s got nothing to do with Jesus. So that’s why we don’t really need Jesus as a little voice will tell you in your head. Is that right? Good! Why not you tell God that? Why not you tell God that it wasn’t very smart of him to love you and sent Jesus to save you? And of course, the Devil will reciprocate in your head telling you that it’s so pretty smart of you not to believe in Jesus. That you can still find your own way to “paradise” all by yourself. And better yet, if by killing all the “infidels” and those who believed in Jesus, you would become a so-called martyr and enter your very own version of “paradise.” But, whose “paradise” is it anyway? God or Satan?

If and when we do see, it would be something that we don’t see with your eyes. We see with our hearts. Do you know how to see with your heart, and not your eyes? You don’t? If you don’t know how, I’m afraid you have to ask Jesus. Before you do that, you have to go down on your knees to repent first. Ridiculous? How can it be ridiculous? I’ve learned it all from Jesus that with God, nothing is impossible or ridiculous. He shows me how to see and believe heavenly things with my heart. If not, will I not have problems at all believing Jesus? Will I not have problems writing all the posts up till now? Will I not have the guts to tell you the truth like Jesus did?

As in one thing leads to another, I’ve learned to see there’s a connection that ultimately brought me to see nothing but the truth and why all humans have to face death. But most importantly, Jesus showed me by becoming an example himself how he conquered death and resurrected. It is because of such ‘Good News’ he created that I’ve learned I too, could be the same like him, if I repented and baptized in his name. I shall live in eternal glory with him when I start walking in his foot prints on earth. You will then begin to see, think and act righteously, but yet still stay humbly and not brag about your  “good” works indulgently. That’s when you will see the power of believing Jesus because believing Jesus is seeing! When you do good to help the poor, God knows even if you do it anonymously or secretly. You don’t have to blow your own trumpet about it. God still will reward you in the end. But of course, you need to have faith in him.

What’s more, when you start believing the truth, you will automatically start seeing the bigger picture of the truth because Jesus is the TRUTH! Then the miracle of seeing heavenly things will happen even if you are blind! Isn’t that incredible? Don’t you want that miracle to happen to you? If not, that means every night you are still going to bed with the curse . It will not stop haunting you until you find the right antidote to reverse it. How horrible it is to even think of it. Is it not?

If anyone does not see or believe the curse, it’s because that person is already “dead”. It is only when a person brought back “alive” (born again) with the divine spirit of Jesus will the person see the truth of who he is.

But yet again not surprisingly, there are people who are not blind yet can’t see. Why is that? The answer is much too simple. Here’s where the biggest problem is. They failed to see the right connection from the right source and hence, believing all the wrong information but even more so, unwilling to accept the one and only antidote that is Jesus. That’s when everything go boom – inside out! If this is the case of what “seeing-is-believing” means, then it certainly is not a good sign. You may need to change your perception 100%, perhaps by going from….

Rags To Riches.

Of all things in the world, why is it necessary to go from rags-to-riches to ‘see’ better? Of course it is necessary. That’s what will help a person not only become a rich man but a better man as well. However, being a rich man does not necessarily make a better man! In fact, a lot of rich men are instigating their own ticking “time-bombs” because of the way they conduct themselves in all the acts of sinful nature.

Once they become rich, they easily forget who they were. Some would become nasty bosses who have no qualms in exploiting the workers and if not, they would either become calculating, greedy and not compassionate. No rich man can deny all these acts of sinful nature. So the only way to defuse these ticking “time-bombs” inside by all your acts of sinful nature, is to do a little soul-searching and choose wisely. Either make a perfect 360 degrees about-turn, or become as incorrigible as the Devil and that’s it! End of the story.

Thus, by pissing people off with the truth, this is the only way to open people’s hearts so that they’d be able to see what really made a rich man rich. Is a man, a rich man because of earthly riches? All too often, to many ordinary people, it’s yes. That’s because people usually see earthly things literary as in “seeing-is-believing”. Right? But if you actually ask a poor man like Jesus who owned nothing but just the clothes on him, you can’t see how he’s gonna be a rich man, so how to believe he could become one? No, of course not. Why? Because you see wrong. What you have failed to see is what he had gone through – the pain and sufferings to go from rags-to-riches. You have failed to see how he had suffered in his struggle to learn the meaning of becoming a ‘rich’ man – that he is really the rich man now in the sight of God and all those who believe in him, because he grew from young to see and do things from the heart. Because of that, he has proven one thing which is, “believing-is-seeing” that makes more sense to him. No, it will certainly not make sense to you if you are unable to discern what it means to see and do things from the heart to bring glory to God, not to yourself and others. That’s the kind of ‘riches’ Jesus was showing us to emulate and follow, not for showing off.

When a person’s heart becomes enriched by believing Jesus, his/her words and deeds are not hurtful, boastful or arrogant. It would enrich others instead in spirit, in truth and in love. That’s when a man/woman becomes ‘rich’ in every way. See now?

As a ‘rich’ man now in words and deeds, Jesus can easily testify that if you become rich because of being spoon-fed, or by any unscrupulous means, or by hands-out of some other means, you are not a rich man in the real sense of the word as you certainly do not have any ‘rich’ experiences to share, that others would embrace and believe simply because your “riches” were not wrought by your own bare hands. As you did not have the need to put yourself into the shoes of someone who actually wrought his/her own riches through blood, sweat and tears, you are not likely to know what empathy means which coincidentally, is the most important prerequisite to know and understand the sufferings of others. Unless you have had walked through the “fire” like Jesus, to purify yourself, you will not know what’s pain and sufferings. Earthly riches cannot purify you, it can only corrupt and control you. If you do not believe all these earthly things, how could you believe if you’re told heavenly things?

You see, the problem is, if you see earthly things with your eyes, you will no doubt be just like anyone else not seeing anything more than just riches that made a man rich or poverty that made a man poor. But if you know the power of seeing things and wrought them according to your heart and for the glory for God, you would even become an extraordinary rich man and that I meant, a rich man not only pleasing in the sight of men, but God as well. Because if you see from inside out with the help of Jesus, you will become a humble and compassionate ‘rich’ man much like Jesus. Then you know why other rich men sucks! And that’s what will set you apart from other rich men. You will also stand out as what a rich man is and should be like, when you go from rags-to-riches the way Jesus did.

Generally, everyone would like to believe that if we allow our minds to take control over our lives, that’s how one would become a rich man through positive thinking like they always tell you to never give up, you will become rich and famous. Little did we know. We can even do better than just becoming “billionaires”, if we allow our hearts to lead the way for us in all things by first having a heart for God and then believing Jesus by giving everything up, perhaps at least “half” of it according to today’s trend, the riches on earth and treasure all the riches of your heart on higher ground instead. Then perhaps, you may very likely become at least “half” of a “rags-to-riches” success story in the sight of God.

Everyone certainly would like to become rich and famous. Wouldn’t you? Who wants to become poor? Do you? But why is it that the world is still inflicted with poverty? Everyone knows there’s always a sense of indignation between the rich and the poor that obviously bring about a gap between them. Let’s start by seeing whether there’s any chance to bridge the gap that has long been a subject of controversy even with countries struggling for social-economic changes. Not surprisingly, even developing countries contemplating such reforms are still lagging behind with their mandate in wealth distribution and especially in a bid to close the gap between the rich and the poor. But it seems the gap is always getting bigger the more they are trying to close. Why? Surely you know why, don’t you? When you know why, surely then you will be able to see the need to make a change or not at all. This is not a one-man task of course! But you certainly need one mighty good man to help. Who’s that? If the world not come to an end this December 21st, 2012 as predicted by the Mayans, can you predict when your own-world will end? No? So, had you not then have it all figured out already by now?

The Alienation of the Rich and the Poor.

If one would to look at how the inhabitants of this “dog-eat-dog” world are faring between people who are affluent and people who are not in the present society of today, there is no doubt on anyone’s mind that those who are rich usually have no problem getting the upper-hand practically in everything. The poor would usually be at a disadvantage and it’s all because of what they do not have and own and that is, wealth! It’s a far cry from what the poor have to put up with to acclimatize themselves in the society compared to the rich. As it turns out, the rich would ostensibly be seen enjoying all the privileges and recognition of a materialistic world where a person’s worth is only too easily satirized outwardly and not inwardly.

Coupled with the fact that humans would usually have no qualms in separating themselves from one and another because of riches, naturally the gap between the rich and the poor will become all the more bigger so much so that everyone will forever not see the light at the end of the tunnel no matter what people try to do to close the gap whether by means of political transformation or whatnot. When the rich are distancing themselves from the poor for reasons only known to them, that’s when the rich will never be able to see and understand even about the simplest earthly things, let alone heavenly things. Earthly things like….

The Rich Man That Is Not Rich.

What does it mean by that? If you tell a rich man who owns almost everything that he is not a rich man, it certainly does not make any sense to him at all. Does it? The rich man would say you are definitely a nut-case. Why? That’s because you are speaking not of earthly things that he could understand. But yet when you speak of earthly things that cuts to their hearts, many rich man’s hearts would become even more harden and will find it even harder to believe if you tell them about heavenly things, because they are much too blinded by all the earthly riches to ‘see’ the heavenly riches waiting on the other side of the divide. That’s why, it’s not surprising they have the problem understanding what “believing-is-seeing” means. Sadly, they only know what “seeing is believing” means.

All too often, one can see all too clearly that the rich always have the tendency to become proud and arrogant and worse, incorrigible! Why is that? It’s because they’re being driven to think they have the “special” rights when they become rich. That means, you can’t reason, let alone argue, and much less criticize them. If you want to test this out, try making your rich boss very angry by making a mistake on purpose, then you will see and understand all the conflicts that earthly riches can bring. I believe any poor man reading this would know and perhaps could have worked for all those rich horrible bosses who would only think the world of themselves and nobody else. What they say and do are always right in their own eyes just because they are rich and own businesses that are putting poor men on payroll.

Honestly, if you cannot find another really rich and humble man like Ken Grenda of New Zealand to work for, then you would know that there are rich bosses that are not really rich. In fact, there are plenty around to make you even poorer in spirit because they are not rich in their hearts to appreciate workers like you who actually were the ones contributing towards their riches with your role as an employee.

Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”. One interesting question that many failed to ask is this. Why did Jesus not say, blessed are the rich in spirit? You see, Jesus knew too well that there are many rich men who would be much too calculating and greedy to enter the kingdom of heaven because they are only too busy building their treasures on earth and that’s why! Remember the story of a young rich man who preferred to keep his riches than follow Jesus? (Refer to Treasure or God post).

The Poor Man That Is Not Poor.

What exactly does it mean by that? Getting confused? You will, if you have not been ever a poor man before. If you have seen through the eyes of a poor man, then you will understand what that means and what made people like Robin Hood who became the famous prince of thieves all because he knew what empathy means. There are poor people who can even be more generous than the rich when it comes to giving simply because they are like the poor widow in the synagogue whom Jesus saw, who gave from the heart and not from abundance. That’s when a poor man can even be ‘richer’ than the rich man when he becomes constantly respected by what he says and does because the values he espoused are more valued in the sight of God than man. If all that you have and you give it all from the heart and in spirit even though you are a poor man in the sight of man, you would be a poor man who is NOT poor in the sight of God!

However, the same cannot be said for the opposite. A rich man is rich in the sight of men because of what he owns and have, but there’s a chance he makes himself even poorer than a poor man when he’s not careful in conducting himself worthy in the sight of God. Most rich people would rather look for favor in the sight of man than God. They want all their “good” deeds done trumpeted for the world to know. That’s when all the vanities of riches in this world not make the rich see and understand heavenly things, let alone believe!

Who Will See And Understand?

Let’s get back to the beginning of the verse and see what triggered Jesus to say those remarkable words.

Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the miraculous signs he was doing and believed in his name. But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all men. He did not need man’s testimony about man, for he knew what was in a man.

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no-one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.” In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no-one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!”

Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no-one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.  So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked. “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?” I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No-one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven – the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.”

No matter how rich you are, you cannot impress God with your wealth if your heart is not rich towards him even by reaching out towards the poor and bridging the gap. That’s the downside of being a rich man having to choose between riches and God and give up either one. You cannot have peace of mind until you know you have decided what matters most. Are you ready to become a really ‘rich’ man for the sake of the poor by giving up your riches? Or a rich man becoming poor to help the poor for the sake of laying up your riches in heaven?

No matter how poor you are, you cannot be poor in the sight of God if you give all of what you have even if it’s a little because you’re already giving it all. God will not forsake you even if you’d died of hunger because of that. That’s faith, not fate.

No matter how earthly rich you are, you cannot be heavenly rich in the sight of God if all the riches you have and owned on earth, had made you turn your back against God. If you could not find favor in the sight of God,  it is because you have created your own fate when you would rather find favor and power in riches that already have sealed your fate.
