Heart For God?

What is the heart of the matter?

In what turned out as some kind of a sporadic outbreak of “man-made’ disasters that are insinuating the heart of the society within a short space of time, the world is witnessing a devious spate of events that in more ways than none are identical to the biblical prophecies of the apocalypse mentioned in the Book of Revelation. What especially caught the world by surprise was a psychotic shooting spree late July has now become the bane of Norway, and that understandingly no longer put the country on the world map as one of the most peaceful and safest place on earth it once was.

And not surprisingly, the purpose of perpetrating such heartless atrocity on his own innocent people has surfaced. It was someone who claimed himself a “Christian”. But if he is a true Christian who believed in the resurrected Christ, there is no reason for him to be so fearful of the threats of Islamization, because even Jesus had prophesied that many false prophets will arise after he is gone and this should not come as a big surprise to the shooter. Therefore  he is no more than just plainly a deranged person although he painstakingly stood against multiculturalism in his country of which was never an issue to the present government in Norway.

Then amid such heart-breaking news was the announcement by Standard & Poor’s that the United States has lost the most powerful credential as the world’s top credit ratings of triple A’s. Something so drastic which happened to the world’s super-power would almost immediately send the global stock market diving which it certainly did and would simultaneously see a serious impact on the world economy. But what followed in succession that is the most shameful man-made disaster was the London rioting or rather it’s more like the rioters were raising hell , that came as an utter shock because it turned out as not politically motivated but purely a shameful criminality ever perpetrated in what was a futile attempt at making a mockery of the present ruling coalition government in UK which after a stern fight-back with rioters were further accused of widening the gap between the rich and the poor because of rising unemployment in certain ethnic community.

And of course not forgetting only barely a couple of months ago was an earthquake that struck off the coast in the prefecture of Fukushima in Japan and brought along a massive tsunami which left a path of devastation that would not be easily forgotten or perhaps be forgiven.  Because worse of all is that, it sparked a nuclear crisis that will end with the similar fate that is parallel to that of the Chernobyl disaster happened in the 80’s of which the people are still reeling from the after-effect even until now. This is just another grim reminder of the price to pay for taking Mother Nature for granted in resorting to nuclear energy to meet one’s ends. Indeed, the disaster at the Fukushima nuclear plant was really meeting the “needs” of the people in the end as what goes around will come around. “If you live by the sword, you will die by the sword.” Does it ring a bell? Yes, true enough – we are not punished for our sins, but by them! Could such a tragedy be regarded as the retribution of all the wrongs and acts of wickedness that the Japan imperialist had committed during the second world war?

Is it a big shock to anyone at all to read of all the bad news in the news media everyday? And especially there would be only more bad news to come? Are all these happenings really a sign of the world coming to an end soon? We can only hope that the Mayans have miscalculated in their calendars. But then again,  the world is in such bad shape now that it looked like there are not many days left even for anyone to have miscalculated in the present day calender. Be that as it may. The Mayans have calculated that the world is at its tether on the exact day of December 21st, 2012. What about us humans?

Have we done our homework or calculation as to where are we heading? Not only physically but more so, spiritually, as somehow or other there’s something inside beckoning to free ourselves from all the wantonness of this world. Have we humans reached the point of no return? Are we at our tether already? Is there no coming back for humans to live as real human beings anymore? What has happened to the most important thing that made a human really human – a heart and a conscience? Is this world so filled with all the so-called human beings who would have a heart for anything (even looting) except a heart for God? Would not anyone bother to stop and ask oneself all these “unpopular” and “unpleasant” questions? Incidentally, if only one person just bothers to take an inch of heaven into the heart, that’s where the heart of the matter is!

There was an incident where Jesus was eating with all the publicans and sinners. So the Pharisees and scribes were like pissed and made a sarcastic remark saying, “This man (Jesus) receiveth sinners and eateth with them.” Then Jesus rebuked them by telling a parable saying, “What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth  together his friends and neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she found it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise, I say unto you there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

The message Jesus was trying to get the across is clear. It is immaterial to “lose face” for telling the truth, and not seen as a hypocrite. The most important thing is not to lose faith in what you believe…but only if that is right and acceptable in the sight of God not man. In the end you can still hold your head high and live with dignity because to have peace of mind is the greatest honor and a priceless freedom that not anyone can have. And that’s where the heart of the matter is! But to lose a heart and conscience just for the sake of “saving face” is really bad news for anyone contemplating such option. When a heart and conscience is lost, it makes no difference if one is still alive because one is as good as sentencing oneself to Hell already!

Because Jesus was showing the good example of what a real human being is and be, by being truthful and down-to earth, he was grossly misunderstood all the time even though he always meant well for the sake of humanity. The only problem with humanity was and still is, is that we humans never seemed to learn from mistakes or the wrongdoings whether one’s own or others. We’re in a denial mode all the time as in habitually fooling ourselves and not see what went wrong when looking in the mirror everyday. Why is that? Simple.

Since the fall of humans and the relationship with the Creator severed, humans have always been dominated by the dark side of the evil forces to rebel against their Creator – that’s why! People are just so helpless and powerless in fighting the devils inside and the worst part is, people always failed to look in the mirror and see the what’s the “horror” right in front of them! So maybe that’s also why those self-righteous chief priests and scribes failed miserably in their bid to conduct themselves as real human beings, and therefore plotted to kill him (Jesus) for being so perfect at being a real human being who reflected so bluntly the graciousness of the Creator who is giving everyone a second chance of redemption and reconciliation simply because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Yet, isn’t it a great pity that people still failed to have a heart for the Creator? Isn’t that the biggest disaster of humanity? Today, it’s much the same when one can see clearly all the bad things that happened were the results of our own callousness, not God’s will.  And the horror is, we are so blind as to not see the self-destructiveness we’re perpetrating with the way we conduct ourselves as “humans” without a heart and a conscience. Are our hearts so hardened and wax cold that even God’s grace and love failed to penetrate…even an inch? Are ye not troubled now? If ye are not, would it not dawn on you that you may have failed to have a heart and conscience for yourself, let alone for God?

So apparently, anyone can easily understand that if any “humans” without a heart and conscious, would without a doubt like the Pharisees and scribes not interested to look in the mirror and see what really went wrong as nothing else matters to them except their own so-called self-righteousness in passing judgment on others. Does not anyone know what God has in store for people like this who are heartless and without any conscience? But first thing first. Let’s find out….

Why are ye troubled?

Isn’t this expression interesting? But who said this? What if it’s a “dead” person said this. Surprised? When something so disturbing that is said at random without fear or favor by someone so unmistakably human, yet “deadly” divine, it only goes to show one thing in such epic scenario. He had to be the Son of God if he had the audacity to say what he means and means what he says. That’s because this person who we know as Jesus would never have had any qualms in telling it the way it is while he was alive. How many people these days do you know that have a heart and consciousness to do the same even though one would very likely end up paying a heavy price as did Jesus?

Why? It’s obvious. People usually just don’t like the truth about the ugly side of themselves told openly, as that would mean losing popularity as in “losing face”. And they would naturally retaliate with any means just to “save-face” and perhaps in some cases even resort to killing to save oneself from losing face! That’s what happened to Jesus who was ruthlessly and, of course, unjustifiably crucified because all he ever he did was, he was only telling the truth of who he was while the perpetrators were doing it to “save-face”.

Now it was not because of that the disciples got petrified of themselves facing the same fate as Jesus. They were just simply caught by surprise as would anyone else, when Jesus suddenly appeared and stood in their midst even as word got out that he rose from the dead after the third day of his crucifixion. They were so terrified and frightened that they thought they saw a ghost. That was when Jesus said to them, “why are ye troubled and why do thoughts arise in your hearts”? Luke 24:38. What transpired here with the disciples is like it almost made them thought they were in a “dream” because they were so abruptly startled by the sudden appearance of Jesus as if he was still in flesh and blood, yet not dead! Perhaps, it was what the disciples didn’t see it coming, that it would be the beginning of the worse to come after their Master is gone.

Sure enough, that’s exactly what happened to them (the apostles) when they bore the brunt of their Faith in Jesus and finally got persecuted and martyred for the sake of spreading the good news of the resurrected Jesus. Until today, Christians are not spared the same persecution in many hostile countries where there is conflict of interest in religion. Jesus also had foretold that his resurrection would be manipulated to dispel the truth that he is the Christ and the Savior. Indeed, this is happening even in these time and age as of late one can see that some religious sectarian of another religious faith have emerged doing exactly that and have even uploaded all the hullaballoo on YouTube.

Although we would not be having a wonderful opportunity like the disciples who were so blessed to have witnessed Jesus who appeared to them in person, but still those words spoken by Jesus then are as intriguing and thought-provoking as ever, even until today! The truth is, Jesus is still asking the same today, “why are ye troubled”. Whether you believe it or not that he rose from the dead, now a simple question to ask yourself is. Are you seeking to follow Jesus by faith or by seeking for proof . Jesus in his short ministry had all the while emphasized that his existence as a “human” on earth was to fulfill his Father’s will. And that God sent him to pave the way for humanity to come back to God in the one and only way possible. And for this to happen, he had to offer himself as a sacrificial lamb for slaughter to pay for the sins of mankind, that we as feeble and fragile human beings had brought upon ourselves and have yet to wake up, still. So, if only you have what it takes (Faith), you are already a “witness” to his resurrection even though you hadn’t the chance to really “see” it with your own naked eyes. But if you do not have it, you would be just like those self-righteous religious teachers of those days who plotted the death of Jesus and then circumvented the issue of resurrection by bribing the soldiers to say that the body of Jesus was stolen by the disciples at night while the soldiers who kept watch were asleep.

Yes, it’s the same today. Do not be surprised. There are as many so-called religious teachers and hardened unbelievers today refuting Jesus’ death and resurrection as were in those days. What’s unbelievable was that they “believed” they had done God a great favor by crucifying the Son of God (Jesus) whom they condemned as having spoken “blasphemy” against God which was their only excuse for annihilating Jesus. To these so-called religious people of today who are claiming that they only believe in the one and only Almighty God in whatever version of theirs, yet their indifference they displayed towards Jesus who is the Son of God and the Prophet of the prophets, have failed to provoke them to reconsider and to act wisely. This is really disturbing!

What made them think they were so wise and correct to proclaim that the death and resurrection of Jesus had nothing to do with one’s salvation? If that is not possible, what then is? Is it by observing and fulfilling all religious laws and rituals to become “righteous” and “holy?” But by whose standards? God or man? If it’s by God’s standard, then what is the point of God sending Jesus to get whacked and nailed on the cross? For what purpose? For what reason? Just for fun only? He could have just abandoned us and leave us all to rot in Hell. Couldn’t he? But why would an Almighty God wanted to go through all the earthly pain and sufferings to deliver us from sin, death and the Devil? He could have saved himself all these troubles by just using his divine power to save us in a much easier and painless way. Couldn’t he?

The Wager

But little did we know. If ever God did that, he would have violated the wager between Him and the Prince of Darkness. He would then,  obviously be seen as having abused his power as an Almighty God. He would have lost his credibility as the highest in authority in Heaven. He would then not in the place fit enough as an Almighty God and be answerable to people and the Devil. So the only way to triumph over evil is that he resisteth not evil (Matthew 5:38-39). Why? It’s simply because you can’t kill evil with evil. It will only beget more evil. Now, for us humans to see God as fair and clean in the wager He made with the Satan (also the Devil), even He as the most powerful spiritual entity in the universe had to adhere to the standard of the wager. Because Man failed Him in the wager, God became human as in the flesh and blood of Jesus to take the place of Man and pay for the mistake that Man made that caused sin to enter the world. That’s why the Devil had lost in the wager with God because the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus was the price God paid for the sin of all humans. That’s why, Jesus is the one and only hope of deliverance of mankind from the bondage of sin, death and the Devil. Most importantly, it was a triumph of good over evil and that’s exactly what Jesus had achieved with his sacrifice on the cross and so he had successfully fulfilled his Father’s will on earth as the only antidote to the curse of mankind.

And if it’s by man’s standard, then what is the point of believing in God? When that happens…it means only one thing. Chaos! That’s exactly what is happening to the world now! Have ye eyes yet not see? Have ye ears yet not hearing?

Is it not the same as “crucifying” God over and over every time someone is out to dismiss, disregard, disparage or discredit Jesus and the true purpose of His mission on earth? Don’t forget: the Bible which is the Word of God says in John 10:30, “I and my Father are one.” And that simply means, God is Jesus and Jesus is God. If anyone does not believe in Jesus as the Christ and Savior, isn’t it the same as not believing in God too! If anyone does not have a heart for Jesus, isn’t it the same as not having a heart for God too? So where is the heart for God when one is so busy at contradicting oneself?

Are ye not ever troubled? If you don’t believe you are, yes you certainly are in trouble then. And that means only one thing. You are being demonized and so is everyone whether we like it or not, ignorant or not, admit it or not, and believe it or not – it’s the TRUTH! Although it’s not possible to argue on the fact that being born in whatever skin colors is not optional, but we can still bash one another over the fact that having the right to choose what to believe and accept is nothing far from being optional. It’s freedom from above that no one can infringe upon – not even God or the Devil! If we were not given the freedom to choose, then what’s the point of having a head to think, to reason and the freewill to choose? We might as well pass ourselves off  as “robots” only would be  controlled by the Creator to do what He wishes. If we have no say and are not in control of our own destiny, why then would the Creator need to let the Satan test Adam and Eve in the first place since we humans don’t have the right to choose to obey Him or the Satan? So next time if anyone comes around and tell you that accepting Jesus as the Christ and Savior of your soul, is punishable by death or whatever, you can tell that person to wake up or he is as good as sentencing himself to the Second Death for stopping you.

The One And Only Solution

The good news is, once you know ‘Who’ can help you to emerge out of the ‘darkness’ that surrounds you, you will definitely be able to ‘see’ who the one and only Almighty God really is, whether He is a ruthless one or a gracious and loving one. You will also ‘see’ clearly what the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus is all about in a better light because it’s only when you’re in the ‘Light’ will  you see what others don’t see when their minds and hearts have been so badly immersed in total darkness already. And if for any reasons you have found out that your “faith” in whatever religions that don’t make sense and cannot save you from eternal damnation, you had better make haste to get proselytized to another one that does! This is because it’s your soul that is at stake and you should value it as you value gold. No one has the right to tell you otherwise. You will always have the last say in deciding where your own destiny lies. And once you know why you failed to have a heart for God, even though all along you have been taught you did not, just because you had been “performing” all the religious rituals that you thought made you feel “so righteous”, but finally wake up to find that it’s not. Then and only then, there’s a good chance that you may ‘see’ clearly in the mirrors whether you have finally gotten on the right path and come home to the really one and only Almighty God. And that is of course only possible when you have accepted Jesus into your heart! That’s the best kept secret of those who have a heart for God.

So, what has all these got to do with the present generation of people being demonized, rebellious and violent?

Of course it does. It is a simple and straightforward answer. It’s either you have a heart for God or the Devil will eat your heart out! That’s why it is so easy for those predominant youths at the height of the rioting in London to become so demonized, rebellious and violent. Punishing them to do time behind bars or whatever is not good enough. They will not change. They need be told the good news of Jesus. That’s the one and only solution that this world badly needed or there’s no hope at all for humans to change and be saved eternally. Mark my words.
